The European Group for Generic Veterinary Products (EGGVP) is an independent non-profit association established under the Belgian law. It represents the industry of generic veterinary medicines in Europe.
EGGVP member companies are focused on the development and marketing of generic medicines for food producing animals and pets. The members of the association discuss the generic veterinary medicines policy and share practical experiences. They also strive to assemble their views and opinions to express these towards the competent EU and national authorities.
EGGVP works closely with regulators and related stakeholders to overcome the regulatory difficulties experienced by its member companies. EGGVP aims, through active participation and constructive discussion, to achieve a practical, harmonised and coherent approach for the licensing of generic veterinary products in Europe. EGGVP is regularly requested to provide comments during the development of regulatory guidelines and other legal instruments. EGGVP coordinates and facilitates the input from member companies and, on behalf of them, ensures that all parties involved in the decision-making process are informed of the effects that any new piece of legislation may have on the generic industry.
The ability of EGGVP companies to work together is the key factor behind the success of EGGVP, an association that allows a high level of involvement in its regular activities. To ensure that all members have the opportunity to contribute, EGGVP has established a range of consultative processes to actively and transparently engage all associate members.
