Brussels, 22nd September 2017 — Over 50 participants representing 21 EGGVP member companies took part in an intense and exciting two-day programme in Seville, where EGGVP held its 15th General Managers Meeting and elected new EGGVP Board. Mª Dolores Caínzos, from Laboratorios Maymó (Spain), was re-elected as EGGVP Chair for the next 3-year period.
Vladislav Kurtev (Richter Pharma, Austria) was welcomed as new member of the Board of Directors. The membership also congratulated the re-elected members Slavka Pavlič (KRKA, Slovenia), Leo Aerden (VMD, Belgium) and Xavier Molins (Cross Vetpharm / Bimeda, Ireland). Former EGGVP Chair and Vice-Chair Rob Joosten (Dechra) received a standing ovation after announcing his retirement from the EGGVP Board, where he served during 15 years of exemplary leadership.
The meeting focused at impact and possible consequences of BREXIT for marketing authorisation holders. Under the format of a Q&A session, speakers Valérie Van Merris, (FAMHP, Belgium, and CMDv Vice-Chair) and Dawn Howard (CEO at NOAH – UK’s National Office of Animal Health) provided guidance to the EGGVP General Managers to identify key aspects and support to be better prepared for the challenge.
As it is tradition, the meeting was preceded by a social event where EGGVP members had the opportunity to visit some local specialities while discussing and exchanging views on the animal health sector.
About the EGGVP Chair, Mª Dolores Caínzos
Mª Dolores Caínzos, who has been EGGVP Vice-Chair between 2007 and 2014, and EGGVP Chair from 2014, is Regulatory Affairs, R&D Director in Laboratorios Maymó, S.A. (Spain). She holds a Degree in Pharmacy and a MBA in Pharmaceutical Industry.
Ms Caínzos has a wide experience both in the veterinary and human pharmaceutical industries, and also in multinational and national companies. She has been Vice-Chair (National level) and Chair (regional – Catalan level) of the Spanish Association of Pharmacists, and also professor at Veterinary Post Graduate courses and MBA’s.
EGGVP members applauded the re-election of Ms. Caínzos to represent the political, scientific, technological and regulatory interests of the whole EGGVP Membership. “With the continued support and strategic guidance of the Board and Members, I will make all efforts to continue to promote the role of generic veterinary medicines, and to address the concerns of this segment of industry”, pointed out the re-elected EGGVP Chair.
